SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems are crucial for pipeline operations, acting as the "brain" for data collection and equipment control.
This refined oil pipeline SCADA project involves dozens of delivery stations, 2 control centers, and 100,000 control points. It previously used imported SCADA and PLC systems that had been in operation for over 10 years, facing issues like system aging and high upgrade costs.
Quick response-Need for quick processing
Site and data dispersion-Distributed in multiple regions
Complex network environment-Wireless and wired networks
System architecture
The SCADA system for the finished oil pipeline of this project includes station control SCADA, dispatch center SCADA, and valve room RTU.
At the station control level, SUPCON's G5Pro large redundant PLC, SOLISCADA monitoring system, and data acquisition devices are deployed.
The control center uses SOLISCADA monitoring platform software and the large VxHistorian database.
A backup control center is set up for redundancy.
The communication network employs both fiber optics and satellites for redundant communication, and all data servers are redundantly deployed.
System architecture
The SOLISCADA system collects and controls data for station process equipment and monitors connected valve room equipment.
The control center's large SCADA database collects and stores data from authorized stations, with a capacity of 200,000 points, and supports data retransmission after disconnection.
Provides user-friendly HMI (Human-Machine Interface) and alarm management interfaces for centralized pipeline operation control and oil product scheduling.
Integrates flow computer data for cumulative flow reporting.
Enables authority switching between the station control system and the control center.
Allows one-click start of oil pumps and automatic oil product switching.
Monitors tank farms and electrical SCADA systems in real-time.
Collects and monitors SIS (Safety Instrumented System) data.
Tracks oil product batch movements, analyzes mixing interfaces, and provides hydraulic gradient analysis and warnings for pipelines.
Diesel tank farm monitoring screen
Injection station control system monitoring screen
Injection station control system monitoring screen
Performance Improvements
Since the upgrade and launch of the high-reliability control system nearly 2 years ago, the system has been stable. Compared to the original system, there have been significant improvements in system response and screen refresh speeds. The system now offers more convenient operation, flexible alarm settings, and easier record queries, fully meeting the requirements of oil transportation production in terms of screen operation and data acquisition speed.
Economic Benefits
Compared with the previous system, SOLISCADA features as cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and has saved about 25 milion yuan in costs for system upgrade and maintenance. In addition, it saves millions of yuan annually in maintenance costs.
Project Summary
The successful launch of this refined oil pipeline SCADA project shows that SOLISCADA can fully meet the needs of the oil and gas pipeline industry. The system's performance in terms of operational efficiency and reliability, as well as the industry solutions provided, have reached leading industry levels and can completely replace the similar products.
